Privacy Notice

This notice explains what personal information I collect through this website and when discussing website reviews or project work.

Last updated: 22 July 2026

Who I am

This website and service are operated by Sam Clements, an independent website and digital-systems consultant based in the United Kingdom.

You can contact me at hello@samclementsweb.co.uk.

Information I collect

I may collect the following information when you contact me:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your business or website address.
  • Information entered into the "What feels clunky right now?" field.
  • Information you later provide by email or during discussions about a website review or project.

How I obtain the information

Most information is provided directly by you through the website-review form or through later correspondence, such as email or project discussions.

How I use the information

I use the information to:

  • Respond to enquiries.
  • Review the submitted website.
  • Provide observations or a proposed mock-up.
  • Discuss and deliver requested services.
  • Maintain appropriate records of project correspondence.
  • Protect the website from misuse or security threats, where applicable.

I do not use information from the website-review form to add people automatically to a mailing list.

Lawful bases

Under UK GDPR, the lawful bases I am likely to rely on for enquiries and free website-review requests are:

  • Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, where you ask me to review your website or discuss possible work.
  • Legitimate interests, where I respond to genuine business enquiries and operate my business in a reasonable way.

I will only rely on consent where I ask for separate consent for a specific purpose, such as an optional marketing subscription.

Sharing information

I do not sell personal information.

The website-review form is configured to be processed by Netlify Forms. Personal information may also be processed by necessary service providers such as email, form-processing or website-hosting providers, but only where needed to deliver their service.

International transfers

Some necessary service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, I rely on the safeguards made available by those providers for lawful international transfers.

How long information is kept

I keep enquiry and correspondence information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage any resulting working relationship, maintain essential business records and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Information that is no longer required will be deleted or securely disposed of.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion.
  • Restrict processing.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Request transfer of your information.
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

To exercise your rights, email hello@samclementsweb.co.uk.

Complaints

If you have a data-protection concern, you can contact me first and I will do my best to resolve it.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and analytics

I could not find analytics scripts, tracking scripts, cookie-setting code, local storage or session storage in the website files. The codebase does not include a cookie banner because no non-essential cookies were detected in the site code.
